Thing 2

OK...So I've accomplished Thing 2. Although I admit to only scanning some of the article that we were supposed to read. It was so long...kind of dull....and lots of terminology I didn't know or only vaguely understood. But still....it was useful.

I'm participating in the Explore 8 Things because it's important to me to be on top of changes in technology and society and also because I believe it has application to my work. I'm excited to increase my understanding of and get more comfortable with these tools.

It was fun looking at the older versions of the healthpartners website from "wayback" .... and I'm proud that our orgnaization is growing and and using cutting edge communication tools. I was really proud to see that Regions Hospital facebook page was awarded as a top facebook page in healthcare!

The link to various youtube videos regarding web 2.0 was nice. It was interesting to see the variety...some are informative and entertaining while some are quite dull! I didn't have the patience for some of them. I guess I learned something there too. If I ever want to submit a learning video....you can't just stand in front of a whiteboard and talk. Ugh!

My First Time!

My very first Blog! I'm so excited! I've been stressing the importance of understanding how web2.0 applies to our workplace and pressing my team to explore new things. Now it's my turn to practice what I preach! Let's hope its a good experience and that I find something to say! I'm not usually short in that department...but then again....whether it will be interesting is another matter!
